I wonder how people have been able to make screens of them already...
Pirate and Oogy Boogy from a Nightmare before christmas I think. Dye it green/brown.

@ Sjeng; Spoiler tag isn't working properly for you there
About the hats; nice ones ! Pretty cool.
@ the lack of continueation I personally was hoping to see with the quests, shame. The challenge mission was fun and funny, but I was hoping to see more about what was going to happen with the Nameless Lich and 'the other person' who was hoping to get back to Tyria.
Kinda feel like the Quest Thread from 2010 Halloween wasn't finished.

Kinda eh if you ask me. The pirate hat should have been given out during the talk like a pirate event. I'm not even sure what the second one is supposed to be. Executioner's hood?

Will Turner and Oogey Boogey Man seem like accurate referances

What are the Mad Kind's games that we must participate in to get the hat?

I'd assume Lion's Arch would be the pirate hat, since it's more of a piratey town (especially in GW2) but that's a complete guess.

You just have to be there for one of the finale events on the 31st (read the first post for more details). It doesn't matter if you take part in the games, you'll get the hat, even if you're idle for the whole thing. I'll be working and just plan to leave my computer on in the morning.

A series of fun mini games in Lion's Arch and Kamadan. Read the guide it clearly explains it all
You get the hat after the games are complete, you can be AFK the whole time as well if you want to be

That hat makes me think of an executioner headwear rather than Oogy.

Just to add; make sure you have an open slot in your inventory or it will end up on the ground!

From what I can tell the Lich referenced the frailty of the mists when she meant that everything here isn't as it appeared.
Additionally it seems the other person returning is Dhuum judging by the stanzas from the last two/three years if you look at the 09-'11 poems. What annoys me is this years poem implied working on the seals but that never happened unless the finale changes

The lack on any sort of quest line development so far has been REALLY disappointing. A single new challenge mission, on an already-existing map, with no other objectives than wiping out groups of mobs spawned at the beginning of the match is pretty pathetic.

Shame for the usual "dandruff effect" on the pirate hat.
That + Ravenheart Witchwear = yarr!

Roughly 24.3% of the population dresses up as a pirate for Halloween.
As for the hood, other than reminding me of The Gray Fox from Oblivion, screams executioner.
I love them

Shame they look so damn bad on my characters. The tricorne comes with the usual unsightly baldness, and the hood looks terrible if you have a neck.
